India egg puff

 Egg is a good source of Riboflavin, Vitamin B12 and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Protein and Selenium. One egg has 13 essential vitamins and minerals in varying amounts, high-quality protein, unsaturated fats and antioxidants, all for 70 calories.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry - 1 Sheet
  • Boiled Eggs - 5
  • Pepper powder ~ ¼ tsp(optional)
  • Turmeric powder ~ ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala ~ ½ tsp
  • Salt ~ ¾ tsp +  ¼ tsp(check for the taste and adjust accordingly)
  • Onion finely Chopped - 2
  • Ginger, Garlic finely chopped or crushed in a mortar ~ 2 tsp
  • Green chilly
  • Curry leaves a sprig
  • Oil of your choice ~ 2 tsp

Making

  1. First boil the eggs, peel off the outer skin and cut to half.
  2. Leave the pastry sheets in room temperature for 45 minutes and after that roll to reduce the thickness to half. Cut the pastry sheets in rectangle form and keep aside.
  3. Take a pan and heat oil in it. Once it is hot, add onions, salt, green chillies, ginger garlic paste,pepper,turmeric and fry till raw smell is gone.
  4. Then add garam masala and boiled eggs. Coat the eggs with this masala properly at all sides. Remove from the gas and let it cool down.
  5. Put these coated half eggs in the centre of rectangle puffs pastry sheets. Put one half egg in one sheet. Apply little water by your fingers on the ends of the pastry sheets and close the sheets opposite ends on top of eggs.
  6. Put these puffs in the oven tray and bake them in 450deg F for about 10 to 12 minutes. Take out and serve with Ketchup or Chilli Sauce.
